J. D. Edwards

J. D. Edwards was formed by three employees from an accounting firm.  It is commonly referred as JDE in the ERP world.  It was originally developed for IBM minicomputers.  Later on it was exported to AS/400, which is a mid-range server for IBM.  Latest offering by JDE was OneWorld.  PeopleSoft purchased JDE circa 2003.

PeopleSoft

PeopleSoft is a California based company formed by David Duffield in 1987.  PeopleCode is the programming language used for Development of PeopleSoft applications.  Oracle purchased PeopleSoft in 2004.

Oracle Applications

Oracle applications are commonly referred as Oracle Apps or OApps for short.
Applications developed by Oracle are: 1. Oracle Financials. 2. Oracle Projects. 3. Oracle PO. 4. Oracle HRMS. 5. Oracle CRM.

Oracle Project Fusion

Oracle Project Fusion is not a distinct ERP in itself.  It is an ambitious project by Oracle Corporation to increase its market share.  Oracle had acquired PeopleSoft, JDE and Siebel.  A need was felt to integrate all these into cohesive one to serve the needs of customers.  This integration led to launch of Project Fusion.

Microsoft Dynamics

Microsoft Dynamics is a suite of ERP and CRM applications developed by Microsoft Business Solution Group.

SAP Business One

Over Years SAP was facing competition in SMB sector by SalesForce and Microsoft Dynamics.  Due to this SAP acquired Israel Based company TopManage Financial Systems.  The Product was later rebranded and named as SAP Business One.  SAP consisted over 16 modules and plus sub modules.

E-Commerec, WebCRM, Financials, Sales, Banking, Inventory etc.
